Soy & care

Burn it beautifully.

Why we pour soy, and how to get every last hour of scent from your candles and melts.

Soy delicious

Why soy?

  1. 01

    Burns cleaner

Soy produces far less soot than paraffin, which is made from petroleum. Your walls and lampshades stay cream.

  2. 02

    Lasts longer

Soy burns slower and cooler, so every candle and melt goes further.

  3. 03

    Kinder indoors

It's a gentler choice for homes with allergies or sensitive noses.

  4. 04

    Made from plants

Soy wax comes from soybeans, a renewable crop, not from oil.

  5. 05

    Holds more scent

Soy holds fragrance beautifully, which is how we get that super-strong throw.

Candles

  1. The first burn matters most. Let the wax melt to the edge of the glass, usually 2 to 3 hours. Soy has a memory, so this sets the pool for every burn after.
  2. Trim to 5mm. Trim the wick before every light for a clean, steady flame and no soot.
  3. Four hours max. Blow it out after four hours, let it cool and relight later.
  4. Stop at 1cm. When 1cm of wax is left, it's time to retire it and keep the jar.

Wax melts

  1. One is plenty. Our melts are strong. One cupcake melt fills most living rooms.
  2. Tea-light or electric. Both work. Electric burners give a gentler, longer throw.
  3. Swap when it fades. After 8 hours or so, let it set, pop it out and add a fresh one.
  4. Mix your own. Half Hot Cocoa, half Caramel Latte? Go for it.

Safety

  1. Never leave a burning candle or burner unattended.
  2. Keep away from children, pets, curtains and draughts.
  3. Burn on a heat-resistant, level surface.
  4. Wax melts are not edible, however good they smell.
